Mirrormaker 2 Unable to Replicate Data.

Symptoms

  • Mirrormaker 2 is unable to replicate data to your Redpanda Cluster
  • You see the following error or a similar error 
    • unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Possible Causes

  • Changes to certificates in Kafka Connect.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Confirm the current state of the cluster and replication via rpk cluster health
    1. If the cluster is unhealthy you will need to address that first.
  2. Try a restart of Kafka Connect to see if it resolves the issue.
  3. Check if there were any changes to certificates on the Redpanda broker or Kafka Connect side prior to the issue.
  4. Check to make sure that all applicable certificates are up to date.
