rpk cloud login fails with : invalid client token: unable to parse jwt token: "iat" not satisfied

Detail 

The iat (Issued At) Claim  claim identifies the time at which the JWT token was issued. This claim can be used to determine the age of the JWT.

As the error stated :    "iat" not satisfied
the suspicion was that there was a time skew between the  system clocks on client ( where the  'rpk cloud login' was issued) and  Redpanda Cloud side.


 

Resolution 

The environment where 'rpk cloud login' command was being run had an incorrect clock time set up. 
Once that was rectified  'rpk cloud login' command worked fine.
If you encounter this error check system clock time, ntp etc on the client.
